Albert was born December 22, 1864 in Winneshiek County, Iowa.  He moved to Norman County in the early 1880's.  He married Johana Maria (Marie) Johnson on October 31, 1888 in Perley. She was born near Calamus, Iowa in September, 1869.  They had two children, Cora and Gilbert, before his untimely death on February 3, 1896. Marie would also die young, on June 4, 1902. They are buried in Bethania Church Cemetery, rural Perley.
