Berge O. Lee - Fort Juelson

After the Civil War, Berge and Olina (Ellen) settled in Otter Tail County in west central Minnesota.  During the Indian Scare of 1876, settlers met at the home of Peter Juelson to discuss how to defend themselves.  It was decided that a fort should be constructed and Berge and another Civil War Veteran, Hans Juelson, were given the responsibility of determining where a fort should be built and supervising its construction.
